Antivirus Software
We all know that it’s the world of computers, from our study to the highest level of national security, from our small purposes to a big industry, everywhere now we need computers, without them the whole system of the world will collapse. So what does it mean? Well it means that we need to make them work fast and without any interruptions. But what causes interruptions in a computer’s work? Well the answer is simple, computer viruses, computer worm, trojan horses, spyware and adware, all these things can cause severe damage to the computers. So to keep our computers protected we need a good antivirus program or antivirus software.
The first publicly documented removal of a computer virus in the world was performed by Bernd Fix in 1987 and two antivirus applications for the Atari ST platform developed in 1987, one of them were G Data and the other one was UVK 2000. To detect any virus an antivirus can use many methods and one of them is Signature based detection which is the most common method to identify viruses and other malware. As the viruses can embed themselves in existing files so in this process the entire file is searched, not just as a whole, but also in one by one process. By Generic detection, removal and detection of multiple threats can be done by using a single virus definition. Some antivirus software also uses HHYPERLINK analysis to identify new malware. The last one is the Rootkit detection in which the antivirus searches the Rookit which we all know is designed to gain administrative-level control over a computer system without being detected.
But as the power and capacity of the viruses, malwares are rising day by day at the end of a certain period it is not possible for an antivirus software to detect all the viruses and malwares, trojan horses so time to time we need to get the updated version of an antivirus software for that we can buy them from market or many companies launche their products on internet for a certain period of time offering free use, we can use those too.
