portable DVD player

A portable DVD player, also known as PDP is one of the new age gadget that is successfully running in the electronic world. This name is for those machines that are designed primarily to play DVDs.

These new gadgets are made to watch movies or other things while on the go. They were first created in 1998. Panasonic was the first company to manufacture a PDP. Other than playing movies, they also play music or are used for displaying pictures.

Most Portable DVD players generally have a LCD or LED monitor attached to it. The sizes of the screens vary from 7 inches to about 10 to 12 inches. Some also have 180 degree rotating screens. Some of the PDPs now come with a USB slot and have iPod docks and SD card slots.

Bluetooth and wifi connections can also be made and data can be transferred through these connections. Few days ago, the models had AV out but now only selected models have them. The price is about $80 to 300 USD. In the beginning of its launch, the price was about $1000.

The only fault in these players is that they have a very bad resolution. The highest is still about 800-480. Maybe they will develop for better in the future days to match the blue ray quality in the market.
